My name is Kari and I write poetry (of course). Over the past year or so, I’ve really embraced writing poetry as an incredible emotional outlet. I’ve completely fallen in love with it, though I’ve only recently begun my journey as a writer.
The main purpose of this blog is to create an electronic collection of my poetry that I can access at anytime, or quickly refer people to, in case I ever need one. Another purpose is to share my poetry with whoever is interested in reading it.
Fun facts about me:
- I’m heading into my junior year of college.
- I’m majoring in Political Science and minoring in African American Studies.
- I’m a big fan of Disney, Marvel, DC, and much more.
- I own a 1 inch pinback button machine.
Some of my hobbies include photo editing, making CDs, listening to music (although someone told me that doesn’t count as a hobby), maintaining various creative projects, and working up the motivation to make a dent in the growing pile of books on the floor of my bedroom.
I placed first place in a poetry section of a creative writing contest at my college campus in April 2019. I am also working on publishing a poetry book by the end of this month (June 2019) so there will be some posts about that in the future. Additionally, I am in the process of creating an online literary journal and will be updating this site with more information about that.
On that note, I am very excited to begin posting my work here! 🙂
